Javea, or Xabia in Valencian, is a municipality in Spain, situated in the north of the province of Alicante in the Valencian Community. Situated between Valencia and Alicante, Javea is famous for its ideal location on the Mediterranean coast and its mild climate.

Javea's residents enjoy an idyllic climate all year round.
Jàvea has been designated by the WHO as the city with the 2nd best climate in the world, behind Rio de Janeiro. Jàvea owes its year-round mild climate to a major mountain range: Montgó, 753m high. As the city is nestled between the San Antonio and Nao capes, it benefits from the protection of the Montgo massif. Thanks to this mountain barrier, the town is protected from the cold in winter and enjoys the sea breezes in summer.
Its heritage
Situated between the San Antonio and Nao capes on the Costa Blanca, Jàvea is a city steeped in history, with an exceptional heritage. Its coves, cliffs, monuments, land, etc. make Jàvea a city with a very varied landscape.
The village, usually referred to as the old town:
Located just two kilometres from the coast, the old town is rich in architectural monuments of great value. Stroll through Jàvea's narrow pedestrian streets and discover the many small squares hidden behind the white facades of the region's typical houses. The village is overlooked by the Gothic church of San Bartolomé, the emblematic building of Jàvea's historic centre, built in the 15th century.
The port :
The fishing port is a very lively district, attracting many visitors for its promenade, terraces, restaurants... Every day, boats unload fresh fish. Thanks to its port, Jàvea has preserved its authenticity and customs. Aduanas del Mar is the urban centre that has grown up around the port: it is the city's maritime and tourist district.

The Jàvea coast is a perfect example of the variety of coastlines to be found on the Costa Blanca. There are plenty of places to visit, including the church of Santa Maria de Loreto, the Montgó nature park, Gothic houses, wrought-iron railings, watchtowers, etc.

Situated on the shores of the Mediterranean, one of the city's main assets is its vast coastline. You'll love its magnificent beaches, stretching over twenty kilometres of sand and pebbles. Made up of cliffs, coves and stretches of sand, Jàvea's coastline offers a breathtaking natural landscape.

Gastronomy is one of Jàvea's main cultural attractions. Originally a fishing village, Jàvea boasts a wide variety of fish and seafood. You'll find some excellent restaurants serving typical local dishes such as Esgarrat and the famous Paëlla. So don't hesitate to come and sample the region's renowned and varied cuisine. Entertainment in Jàvea
In Jàvea, you can enjoy a wide range of activities. If you're a sporty type, you can choose between scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, sea fishing, golf, etc. Nature lovers can visit Jàvea's protected nature parks, including Montgó. Those who prefer to relax can alternate between sunbathing and swimming.
To the north, scuba diving enthusiasts can explore the depths of the Cap de San Antonio marine nature reserve. In the harbour, you can hire a boat, try your hand at sailing or sail along the coast to Dénia. On the other side of the harbour, to the south, you can soak up the sun on a wide beach of fine sand, where you can also hire windsurfing boards or pedalos. Between the two capes of San Martín and La Nao and the islands of El Portichol and El Descubridor, the coastline is adorned with a wild beauty that will be much appreciated by scuba diving enthusiasts. Finally, the beautiful Cala Granadella offers bathers its golden sands and transparent waters.
